IPAF MEWP Training Overview
Our IPAF-certified MEWP training courses in Dublin are designed to equip operators with the essential skills and knowledge to safely manoeuvre Mobile Elevating Work Platforms (MEWPs), including scissor lifts (3A) and boom lifts (3B).

Course Objectives
Upon completing this IPAF MEWP training, participants will be able to:
- Understand health and safety regulations related to MEWP operations.
- Safely operate various types of MEWPs, including scissor lifts (3a) and boom lifts (3b).
- Conduct pre-use inspections and safety checks on MEWPs.
- Identify and mitigate potential workplace hazards associated with MEWP usage.
Course Programme
- Introduction to MEWP categories and structural components
- Comprehensive overview of regulations and standards, including ISO 18878 and PUWER.
- Pre-use inspection procedures and handover protocols.
- Safe operating methods and hazard recognition.
- Emergency lowering procedures and correct use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
Course Format
Duration:
1-day course (approximately 8 hours), including theory and practical components.
Assessment:
Participants must successfully complete both written and practical evaluations to receive certification.
Certification:
Successful candidates will receive the IPAF PAL (Powered Access Licence) Card, valid for 5 years.
